Pike Place is once of my favorite places in Seattle. I could spend hours there wandering around all the stalls, shops, and restaurants! In fact, when we have friends visiting during the week, I often send them there during the day while I’m at work and they always have fun exploring. I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite places inside the market:
1. Produce stands
I love walking through all the fresh produce stands. Many of them offer samples of apples, peaches, or whatever’s in season!
2. Pike Place Fish
Chances are, if you’ve heard of Pike Place, you’ve heard of these guys! They’re the ones in the entrance to the market that throw fish around all day. I hadn’t actually ordered any fish from them until my friend Janna came about a month ago, and she wanted to take some home for her family. Pike Place Fish has a lot of great options for visitors ordering fish: For only $10 they’ll package it up for you in an odor-proof, leak-proof container that’s guaranteed fresh for up to 48 hours, and you can check it or carry it on a flight! You can also order online and have it shipped to you. It’s so fun watching these guys, and even more fun if you buy a fish!
3. Flower Stalls
I’m amazed at all the flower stands in Pike Place. Each day there are so many vendors selling fresh flowers. I love coming home with a bouquet – you can get beautiful arrangements for only $5 or $10!
4. Papardelle’s Pasta
I come here all the time! They have THE BEST olive oils and marinades! They also sell handmade pasta, which we haven’t tried yet, but we definitely will! Our favorite marinade is the Cabernet & Roasted Garlic.
5. Chukar Cherries
Chukar Cherries is awesome! They have dried cherries covered in chocolate – how can you resist?! Our favorites are the Black Forest Bing Cherries and the Tangerine Cherries.
6. Rachel’s Ginger Beer
I love stopping at Rachel’s Ginger Beer for a drink after wandering through the market. They have an amazing selection of flavored ginger beers and cocktails, including my favorite, Moscow Mules.
So there you have it! These are my go-to stops every time I visit Pike Place. What are your favorites? Let me know in the comments below, or connect with me on Facebook or Twitter!
