This weekend we were off to Lake Wenatchee State Park, about two hours away, for a week of camping with our friends. It was a beautiful drive into the mountains!
We left after work on Friday and ended up getting to the campsite a little before dark. Unfortunately when we arrived, we realized that the tent poles hadn’t gotten packed with the rest of our tent! Rather than make the two hour drive back home to get them, J decided to attemptĀ to set the tent up with some rope. It worked amazingly well! He was excited about getting to use all his knot-tying skills from his Boy Scout days again.
Our campsite was beautiful!!
Saturday morning we all took our kayaks out on Lake Wenatchee. It is such a beautiful place! Luckily we were out early enough that the water was like glass. By the time we left a few hours later, the water was a lot choppier. I’m glad we got to enjoy it like this!
All seven of our kayaks!
It was such a perfect, beautiful day!
After a few hours of kayaking, we headed back to our campsite (with a quick ice cream break first!). This beautiful river was right nearby, so we sat and relaxed and enjoyed the sun some more.
We finished the evening off with a fire and some smore’s.
It was a perfect weekend getaway!
