This weekend’s new adventure: bouldering! I had never heard of it before I moved out here, and J has described it as “rock climbing without harnesses”. I was a little hesitant about this (what if you fall?!), but J has been talking about wanting to go for a while, so I agreed to give it a try.
It’s been a cloudy weekend, so we decided this morning would be a great time for some indoor exercise. We went over to Stone Gardens in Bellevue, not far from where we live.
It looks really cool inside! Lots of thick mats (in case you fall!) and crazy walls to climb up. The paths are all really well marked and color coordinated, so you can find areas for your skill level.
I was still pretty nervous at first and didn’t want to climb too high, but I eventually got the hang of it and had a lot of fun. It was a great new way to get a good full body workout! (And also a way to find lots of muscles in your arms and hands that you didn’t know existed!) Can’t wait to come back again.
